I (Kay) am a member of Chapel Allerton Runners club. Once a month the club invites a member to host a food social which is basically a big feed post run to raise money for both the club and other charities.
So me and Kim thought why not rustle up a big spag bol for the runners, throw in some garlic bread and some tasty treats for deserts and raise some money for our Borneo trek?
We tried to keep the costs down without compromising on taste and think we did a pretty good job – helped by other members Kath and Nicola who contributed some lovely cakes.
The night was a huge success – thanks to the generosity (and hunger) of the gang, we raised over £110.
Here’s to more food socials throughout the year!
